PHASE 1- You will learn and develop skills in order to write and speak fluently. These French language courses are 70% oral which is speaking and listening and 30% grammar, vocabulary reading and writing. The levels for these French language courses are beginner at 100 hours, Intermediate I at 100 hours, Intermediate II 100 hours. The total hours of Phase of French language courses are 300.
PHASE 2-Consists of boost speaking and listening skills which are comprised of 70% Consolidate Grammar and Vocabulary which involves reading and writing which is 30%. The levels for these French language courses are at Intermediate III for 100 hours, Advanced I for 100 hours and Advanced II for 100 hours. The total amount of hours for Phase 2 is 300.
The total amount of these French language courses are 600 hours for a total of 24 weeks - participants can take any number of weeks they wish from 1 week to 24 weeks. Please contact Languages Canada for more details on their French language courses.
Oral proficiency and grammatical knowledge are determined by means of a free placement test for French language courses. Based on the results of this test, they can accurately identify the student's needs and recommend the most convenient level. They can even email the written part of the test. If you intend to observe a class at ATPAL, please bear in mind: that a classroom at ATPAL is an intense, assertive environment where people are trained to rapidly improve language skills using highly specialized techniques.
Games, topic discussions and simulated conversations are not used to encourage inefficient communication. You will observe friendly teachers assisting motivated students on a personal basis during your French level courses. Students record their errors and take immediate corrective actions with a positive, results-oriented attitude. By watching people work assertively in order to reach a superior level of quality may be a highly challenging experience for students who have developed traditional 'communication' habits but are unaccustomed to clearly identifying and dealing with their language weaknesses. Since you will be attending a class just for observation purposes, you will only see partial aspects of ATPAL. They will be happy to answer any questions you might have about the techniques for these French language courses.
